Some days I get to write/teach things that come from deep places of fear and pain and hope and excitement in my world. This week i was reminded of one of those times.
I spent some time this week with some new friends looking at Ephesians 6. Yep, it’s the armor of God stuff that. It brought me back a few months to one of my very favorite teachings i’ve ever gotten to do. Why so “favorite?” Because these are the words that i needed at that time…and words that i need today.
A few years ago my husband set this lil army man on our alarm clock. i noticed the lil retro toy positioned just so and asked him what it was all about. He said to me, “i leave it there because every single morning when i open my eyes to start the day i feel like a steady stream of bullets are aimed at me. i’m constantly facing the attack of the enemy. From the first moment my eyes open to start a new day. That lil army guy reminds me that–no matter how i feel–i’m not alone in the battleground.”
Facing a battleground this week? Yea, me too. Battlegrounds come, bullets fly, but we are never alone. Need to be reminded that you aren’t alone in your battle? Order some army men from Amazon and plant them on the alarm clocks in your world to remind you. He’s made a way thru the battle…He’s given us the armor, y’all.
- We are facing a battleground. Courage is doing it scared. (quote by Jill Briscoe)
- We gotta know the enemy. The enemy only has as much authority as i give him.
- We have access to the whole armor of God…don’t be a wobbly Christian who is easy prey.
Put in your air pods and give it a listen, would ya?
