5 things I love TODAY…
- watching my daughter dance…at her dance class Tues she had a breakthrough (who knows if it will last). Not a TECHNIQUE breakthrough or anything, but a SELF-ESTEEM breakthrough and it was a day I’ll never forget. She is taking a hiphop/jazz class (yes, I said hiphop) and tends to be very reserved and too perfectionist-y. She is hard on herself and convinces herself others are laughing at her, etc. etc. etc. Tues she just went for it. I was SHOCKED. Other moms where shocked. Her teacher was shocked. I loved that snapshot of her…proud of herself, feeling admired, and impressed w/herself. Her teacher sent me this email later: ”
F.Y.I. – M made my whole day this evening. Watching her dance is exactly the reason why I do this. She was soooo into it and she did such a great job and with a great attitude. Tell her I didn’t get a chance to make a bigger deal out of how proud I was of her tonight. Thanks for bringing her to me, I am so lucky to be a small part of her world.”
