Re-posted from March 2007. True then. True now.
“God worked that out for good!”
That is TRULY one of the most heard quotes around here these days. It’s a Braedenism and he uses it daily like this:
“Mom, want to know what God worked out for good today for me? Well, I wanted to bring my new basketball bag for show-n-tell, but I forgot to bring it. I was so sad, but then my teacher said there wasn’t time so we’d have to do it tomorrow!! God worked that out for good – now I can bring it for s-n-t tomorrow!”
“Maya, do you know what God worked out for good? There were exactly 4 skittles left in the bag so you and I can share and it’s perfectly even.”
“Dad, did you see that God worked that last game out for good? He helped me keep from hurting my foot until after I scored 2 baskets!”
And on it goes. I’ve always thought it was CUTE, but it wasn’t until today that I saw it for what it is. Inspiring. Can i look at the circumstances of my day-to-day life and see them as “what God is working out for good?”
i want 7-yr old theology.
i want to love every surprise.
i want to recognize His hand in the details.
So, as we go about our day, let’s stop, and tell someone (or even better, tell Him) what God is working out for our good today…remember, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
i want 7-yr old theology. Don’t you?
