GOOD THINGS ABOUT RETURNING FROM VACATION:
- we get to see our dog…missed that lug
- all the tivo’ed shows…we watched 2 24s last nite sans comercials
- being in a room w/o kids…nice to have a lil alone time
- washing machine
- and…thats about it
- OH…YEA…missed family and friends, yada yada yada
BAD THINGS ABOUT RETURNING FROM VACATION:
- SIGH…this is partial list…too many to list
- the beach – nothing like seeing kids run from the waves…or make sand castles
- hotel…it was the bomb…
- alone time w/my crew…wow, do they rock? they were PERFECT…too PERFECT…eerily PERFECT (thank You Lord)
- the PCH
- the Qs – "Mommy, do you think everyone on this beach believes in God? Cant they see what He made?"
- and more Qs…"Mommy, what are the Gideons?"
- room service
- sleeping w/a different kid each nite (and cracking up as they argued over who got to sleep w/daddy…can anyone say ‘mommy is chopped liver?’)
- Hash House a Go Go – my dream place for breakfast…yes, we waited for an HOUR to eat here – worth every second
- elephant seals
I could go on…check out the pix for a lil idea of how great our trip was. We flew into SF and drove all the way down the PCH stopping in Monterey and Santa Barbara b4 ending up in La Jolla. Kids were great…so calm and good to each other. The week b4 we left – all the bickering – I wondered if this would be THE trip of my nightmares. They were amazing…best friends…appreciative (for the most part) and very few complaints…even w/lots of driving and some cold/rain. Reminder of how blessed we are…that we CAN do this…that we’ll have these memories forever, no matter what may come. Glad to be home, but even more glad to have some new memories to thank Him for…enjoy a snapshot of the fun!

Great pics! Glad you are home all safe and sound. The week sounds like it was wonderful.

Did you wave at my family as you passed through Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach and Santa Maria? Bet you didn’t stop for Abelskivers in Solvang at Arnie’s! Did you go to the aquarium in Monterey, or Hearst Castle in San Simeon? If you drove down highway one (which you’d have to do to go through San Simeon) lunch at Nepenthes in Big Sur is heavenly. There’s a little aquarium in Morro Bay where you can feed the rescued seals too. I’m hoping to take the kids to some of the “hot spots” from when Chris and I were dating this summer. Glad you had a good time, sounds like lots of fun!

Great pics and recap, as we felt the same enjoyment of the same things+–more pics to come your way today, hopefully!

The Denny’s thing is wild, my mom lives just over the hill from Denny’s and my sister is friends with the manager. It was such a sad thing. I was raised in Arroyo Grande and so know the Central Coast very well. Thursday nights the main Street in San Luis Obispo is closed for farmers market. Shell beach is a great place to take kids because instead of sand the beach is covered in rocks and shells. Oh, Kris, if I’d known you were heading through my stomping grounds I’d have happily given you places to see (and people who could show you the sites)
